Our gastronomic offerings, like the composition of our guests, is diverse: traditional Hungarian dishes, reform cuisine, recent additions, local specialities, vegetarian dishes, special diets and dishes for children. When deciding the daily selection for the buffet table, our chef takes into account the seasonality and also age distribution.
Raw materials are purchased from local suppliers. Equipping a new kitchen offers an opportunity to apply new methods of food preparation.
We offer an abundant buffet breakfast with a wide selection of hot and cold dishes.
The standard composition of the buffet dinner: 2 cold appetisers, 2 soups, 2 warm appetisers, 4 main dishes with suitable side dishes, 2 desserts, fruit and salad.
The dishes on our a’la carte menu are characteristic of the multitude of flavours in Hungarian cuisine, in a modern guise. Currently our most favoured dishes are: Roast mozzarella vegetables with tartar sauce and rucola yoghurt in home-made breadcrumbs; Strawberry cream soup with fried ice cream and basil strawberry salad; Wels catfish with toasted pork belly in a paprika sauce with mangold and cottage cheese dumplings; Rhubarb crumble with vanilla ice cream.
It's always an exciting test of strength to prepare an offer for a wine dinner, wedding, ball, gala dinner, or reception, create its final shape, then conduct preparations, execution, and finally evaluate the experience and lessons learned. This way, we can keep moving forward next time...
Our conception of wine
The connection between Saliris Resort and grapes and wine is demonstrated by the thematic naming of our vending places and special rooms: Pinot Noir, Cabernet, Merlot, Kadarka, Chardonnay…
Following the opening of the hotel, we have held a number of events connected with wine. We have visited wineries through the "Taste Foray" programme, while we've focused on wine dinners with the "Wine Magic" series.
We update our wine list every six months, but from the very first selection we decided to offer wine from the Eger wine region, naturally supplemented with one or two Tokaji wines. The wide variety of this historical wine region offers this possibility, and we feel this to be our mission.
The wine list is now clear, and we can offer 21 wines from six wineries in the Eger wine region, plus three Tokaji wines. The spirit of the St. Andrea Vineyard and Winery neighbouring the Resort is a key factor, and it lives in the wine. The great popularity of the gastro-wines of the Juhász Brothers, also from Egerszalók, is a source of delight. János Bolyki, with numerous accolades, is one of the most successful young winemakers. The Tibor Gál Winery has been completed renewed and still follows tradition. The red wines of Béla Vincze are unavoidable in all three categories: market, estate, and Arcanum.
Our headwaiter and wait staff are happy to help you with your choice of wine.
